A Note on the Book, Rag Theater

A portion of the production costs of Rag Theater was raised by offering pre-publication subscriptions by which the subscriber reserved a copy of one of three hundred signed and numbered hardbound copies of the book. Among the subscribers were a number of museums and many private collectors. This edition of Rag Theater was submitted to the American Institute of Graphic Arts for its annual "Fifty Books" competition. It was selected and was exhibited in the AIGA’s "Fifty Books of 1976" show. In addition to three hundred hardbound copies, twenty-seven-hundred paperback copies of Rag Theater were printed.
